Branding The United States of America

The Michigan state flag pulls symbols from the state seal and its reputation for industry. The antlers interchangeably represent those of the large white tailed deer, the state mammal, and the elk Michigan features on its seal. As a nod to Michigan’s automotive and industrial history, the ends of the antlers are adorned with the features of a wrench. The antlers surround the inscription E Pluribus Unum, which translates to “From Many, One.”
